Sadly, we had to have our cat put down yesterday. He was almost 17 and had been fading away over the last few weeks. Some tears were shed, bless him............

Ohh sorry to heat that Bob, 17 years is quite old for a cat.

Commiserations, Bob. He was obviously a part of the family and will leave a gap. But if you read some of the other threads in this forum about animal cruelty, you'll know he was one lucky cat.

Having a pet put to sleep is awful, but it can be the final act of a responsible owner for a beloved animal. Hope you all feel better soon.

Sorry to hear your sad news Bob.

I agree with Jo, he's been a very lucky cat to have been loved and cared for all those years. They do become more precious to us as they get older, and it's one of the most painful things when the decision has to be made to end the suffering.
