EE thread for June
We spent most of the episode outside Walford for a change. The crew must have been over the moon, two different locations
I don't understand what the writers are trying to do with Pat and Peggy. If Peggy feels close enough to Pat for her to be the first person she turned to with her cancer scare, why does she feel the need to run Pat down all the time, to other people? If they're the good friends they're supposed to be, would they really lie to each other over this man they've known for hardly any time at all? Hopefully that'll be the end of the love triangle now that he's been caught out for a second time.
I don't think Leon was hit with the van at all. The blood will be from the scratches he got running through those woods in the dark.
The cottage is awful though, filthy and depressing.

I agree with Carol, there's no way Bianca could teach Liam. I'm glad they didn't show the appeals procedure as being really easy, because most appeals aren't successful.
I agree about Peggy, she's always been like that with Pat.
No I don't think Leon was hit either, more likely they hit a deer or a badger or something.

Re: EE thread for June
So that's Vanessa Gold? Can't say I'm very impressed so far. I got my hopes up when Max practically told her to go away but before the end of the episode there he was calling her up. How predictable. He still wants Tanya, but this Vanessa will do in the meantime.
I'm not sure why Libby felt free to invite her gran and her boyfriend to Jordan's welcome home. And I'm beginning to feel sorry for Lucas every time she casts her beady eye over him.
It was nice to see Ian mentioning a few old names. I wonder if the names of the present teens will ring any bells twenty years from now?

I can't see it, the Beale twins maybe, but the rest I think will be fairly fly by night.
I didn't see all of tonight's episode (I blame Britain's got Talent
) so I wasn't sure who Max was calling, but it did seem typical Max.

Re: EE thread for June
I enjoyed seeing Mercy's grandmother and hope she turns out to be an interesting character. She seems loud and overbearing but likeable nonetheless. It looked like she might be friends with Liz, if the latter wasn't leaving shortly. They might pair her up with Patrick.
I'm so tired of Denise though, and wish she was one of those getting the axe. Even at Jordan's party, she's loudly making plans to escape with Lucas to the Vic. She really is such a silly, shallow, selfish woman, I'm glad Lucas isn't dancing to her tune. It's just too bad it's because he's so evil.
Auntie Kim is a horror, she's the kind of auntie you hope won't hear about your wedding so you don't need to invite her.

I cannot stand Ian Beale but he's right about Phil. But to sit there grinning smugly while Phil's being told he may lose both his children was so wrong. I don't think either of them are good fathers, Ian certainly has no reason to look down on Phil when his daughter is nothing to be proud of.
I haven't made up my mind about Mercy and Mrs. O (can't remember her full name
) so I don't know whether or not I'm glad they're staying around for a while.

Re: EE thread for June
I think the only way Louise and Ben would stay sane is to remove them from Albert Square altogether, neither the Mitchells or the Beales are even remotely close to an ideal family.
I can't say I'm keen on Max and Darren's new love interests, cant remember their names (in fact I'm only assuming Mercy and Mrs O are the two who were leaving for the Caribbean, I can't remember their names either
). Why would someone squat in the middle of a road to look through their handbag ?

Re: EE thread for June
I hope Jordan comes clean about provoking Ben but I'm not sure how much of a defence it is. It can never be all right to hit someone on the head with a spanner, no matter what names they called you.

Re: EE thread for June
I agree, he should come clean, but it doesn't excuse Ben. Especially since he locked him in the garage afterwards as well.

Re: EE thread for June
The writers must have done a bit of research for once, or maybe they've finally realised they can't keep letting the Mitchells defy law and order. They've already let Phil walk away from an armed robbery charge so they probably decided they better go for more realism this time. So Ben's going to a higher court. For a moment, like Shirley, I thought that Jordan's new statement had got him off the hook altogether. I'm glad it didn't.

Re: EE thread for June
Lucas is behaving so self-righteous now, why isn't Denise more suspicious than she is? In her head, she's still making excuses for him when she knows something's very wrong. Not giving her injured stepson his painkillers just made her seem as self-centred as ever, because she does put her own needs before other peoples and that's not a new thing for Denise.
As for Roxy, she's everything we said she was right from the start.

Re: EE thread for June
I had to laugh at Chelsea saying 'the lights are on, but no one is home', if ever there was an air head it's Chelsea
I'm surprised EE didn't get the slapping hand out again, because if I'd been Denise and Lucas had started saying 'God forgive her, she knows not what she says' I think I might have had to slap him

Re: EE thread for June
I didn't even realise it was a double episode until I looked at the clock when it finished. That's a good sign, and unusual for EE.
I'm not sure what Ronnie was on about, with her loan from Roxy to do up the club and how that means she's done it all herself. No. Doing it yourself means getting a loan from someone other than your sister, cos that's the hard part these days.
Abi's proving herself to be a true Branning, skipping school for the sake of her love life. She's always been a chip off Max's block.

Re: EE thread for June
I'm not keen on all this stuff with Lucas and Denise, although I was surprised he took her to meet that girl.
Stacey is really annoying too, okay she's pregnant but for goodness sake, she's not the only woman ever to have a baby.
Agree about Abi, definitely her father's daughter.

Re: EE thread for June
It's not pregnancy hormones with Stacey, she's always moody. I hope Ryan finds out about the baby, he's a bad boy but I think he's basically nicer than Janine.
